Simple Hair and Skin Care Routine

Here I’ll be sharing with you my simple hair skin and makeup routine.

To me, a simple beauty routine is highlighting our unique features instead of hiding them or altering them depending on who you are and what your preference is our beauty routines are all going to look very different.

Over the years I’ve narrowed down my routine to what makes me look and feel my best.

So this is just what works for me okay let’s get started.

Usually I’ll take a shower at night and sleep with a damp hair in a bun to add some natural texture to my hair.

The messier the bun the more natural it looks, sometimes I’ll touch up on the curls in the morning but prepping my hair.

This way overnight saves me a lot of time for the sake of this post I’ll be washing my hair in the morning just so that you guys can see my full routine.

I take body showers every day even twice a day sometimes but I only wash my hair every three to five days.

I’ve trained my hair to require less washing over the years and with this schedule I did notice that my hair falls out less and it gets less oily.

I’m using the aloe and Denis shampoo by Korres and I also use their conditioner as well.
I’m just sharing with you the products that I’m currently using.

I have been loving the chorus hair products, I like that the smell is not overpowering and since a little bit goes a long way their products last a really long time for me for the conditioner.
I just use a tiny bit for the tips of my hair.

Once a hairstylist told me to do a cold rinse at the end of every shower for stronger and shinier hair and this really stuck with me.

It’s such a simple little step but I do see all the benefits that she mentioned, so this is always my final step.

My sister gave me this hair towel from a brand called aquis, if you have long hair like mine you know it’s such a hassle to blow dry your hair not to mention the heat damage but this towel absorbs a lot of the moisture in advance which helps cut my hair drying time in half.

Sometimes I’ll just leave my hair like this and I don’t even have to blow dry it compared to my nighttime routine.

My morning skincare is relatively quick and easy normally I’ll just use my face cleanser but if I do have the time I’ll do a face mask or exfoliate after my shower and something I’ve been using it’s called perilla powder.

I take a little bit of the powder, add some water to it and massage this milky paste onto my skin.

My mom actually is first to introduce me to this but after doing some research it seems like perilla seed or perilla powder is packed with vitamins and minerals and most importantly my sensitive skin seems to love it.

Since Hawaii is near the equator I always make sure to apply my SPF and try to stay moisturized all throughout the day.

My skin type is very oily so I use a light moisturizer with a built-in spf and this one does the job.

Okay back to my hair I brush it out with this wooden comb and I’ve had this one for years, it’s really gentle on my hair and honestly feels like a scalp massage.

I always take my sweet time doing this because this process is so therapeutic for me, by the way I stopped coloring my hair years ago and stopped using any hair products like dry shampoo, hair masks serums not only does this help save me a lot of money but I notice that I don’t miss any of these products.

My hair is already pretty dry but since I have to leave my house today I’m expediting the drying process by blow drying it with cold air.

I love coconut oil, I just apply a small amount to the ends of my hair and whatever is left over I apply it everywhere else for my skincare I’m using elias super serum skin tint.

I’m the perfect mix between two different shades kokini and porter ferro.

It has a really sheer coverage but it’s enough to even out my skin tone and just add a touch of a healthy glow.

My skin was actually one of my biggest insecurities, I had really bad acne growing up which resulted in deep acne scars and I tried everything on the market to fix it or cover it up and ironically I noticed that my skin only started to heal after I stopped putting so much chemicals on it time was what I really needed.

So this is why I’m taking the less is more approach when it comes to my beauty routine, when I want to add a touch of color I’ll use elia’s cheek and lip tint.

This color stutter is a burnt orange color and it really complements my skin tone.

Some other essential steps I fill in my eyebrows, curl my lashes and apply a few coats of mascara.

This is my typical everyday look whether I’m going to the office or going out to lunch with the family and like I mentioned I sometimes add curls to my hair especially in the front just to frame my face I’m using my old I think it’s one inch barrel curling iron because it still works like a charm.

I’m just roughly sectioning my hair in big vertical pieces and curling it away from my face just repeating this until I’m finished as I go into my 30’s I realize that I don’t need to spend a lot of money or time to feel put together.

I’m just learning to love all the little features that make me unique.

I hope you guys enjoyed my simple natural beauty routine but this is just for your everyday life, if you want to attend any party or function like wedding then you must go to salon like Loreal, which is one of the best salon in India.
