What is Inside Burj Khalifa?

What is inside in Burj Khalifa? Let’s find out.

Exploring the Wonders of Burj Khalifa

An Architectural Marvel

Situated in central Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the Burj Khalifa stands as one of the most prominent skyscrapers and remarkable modern buildings in the world. Designed by Adrian Smith of the Chicago-based architecture firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, it reaches a staggering height of 2,722 feet, earning its title as the highest man-made structure globally.

The Architect’s Legacy

Adrian Smith, the visionary architect behind Burj Khalifa, has also crafted other iconic projects worldwide, including the Jin Mao Tower and the Wuhan Greenland Center in China. His work extends to the forthcoming Jeddah Tower in Saudi Arabia, poised to surpass Burj Khalifa as the world’s next tallest building.

Impressive Heights

To put its grandeur into perspective, the Burj Khalifa is half the height of the Empire State Building in New York and three times taller than the Paris Eiffel Tower. It even outstripped Taiwan’s Taipei 101, which had held the world record since 2004. The Burj Khalifa’s bits, laid end to end, would extend over a quarter of the way around the world.

Ownership Puzzle

Interestingly, the actual owner of the Burj Khalifa is a complex mix. Emaar Properties owns parts of it, while the rest belongs to various institutional investors. Emaar Properties takes charge of its day-to-day operations as the developer of the Burj Khalifa and its surroundings.

Counting the Floors

While 163 is widely recognized as the number of floors in the Burj Khalifa, a building of its height could not have just 163 floors even with the spire removed. This is because the floors above level 163 and below the spire form the spire’s base structure, covering 46 floors. Thus, the building technically boasts 209 floors.
